Tesco recalls sausage rolls, steak pies, and more over fears they could be ‘unsafe to eat’
Four popular pastry products have been recalled.

Tesco has urgently recalled packs of some of its most popular pastries over fears they could be “unsafe to eat”.
Multipacks of sausage rolls, cheese and onion rolls, and steak and ale pies are among the pastry products the supermarket retailer has urged customers to return if bought within certain dates due to potential traces of metal and plastic.
The four products being recalled are considered “unsafe to eat” by the supermarket.
All x20-packs of Tesco’s own-brand Mini Pork Sausage Rolls with the best before date of 29 August, x9-packs of own-brand Mini Pork Sausage Rolls with the best before date of 30 August, and x6-packs of own-brand Cheese and Onion Rolls with the best before date of 31 August have been recalled by the supermarket.
Not only that, but all Tesco Finest Steak and Ale Pies with the best before date of 1 September have also been recalled.
The Food Standards Agency has also issued a ‘Food Alert for Action’ over Tesco’s recall – which is an alert issued to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food, and provides details of the specific actions to be taken.
Tesco says anyone who has bought these items can return them in stores for a full refund.
The supermarket explained its urgent statement issued to customers: “We have been made aware that specific batches of various Tesco chilled products may have been contaminated with small pieces of blue plastic and metal.
“This could potentially pose a risk if consumed.”

With no receipts needed to return the four items to stores, Tesco has apologised to customers “for any inconvenience caused”.
