Manchester City have officially announced their upcoming documentary chronicling the 2022/23 season and their incredible treble-winning campaign.
They already did All or Nothing – there was no chance they were going to pass up reliving the greatest moment in the club’s history.
Entitled Together: Treble Winners, the six-part docuseries will show the behind-the-scenes of how last season at Man City — their best-ever in 129 years as a football club — unfolded and culminated in them achieving “football immortality by winning the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.”
Whether you’re a Blue or not, you have to admit, it’s hard not to wonder what it must have been like in the changing rooms and to be part of that historic moment.
Beyond the weird belly-slides and Elton John cuddles we all saw on social media, of course.
Giving a description of the soon-to-be-released series, the club said: “[The treble] was a truly historic achievement and to celebrate, our acclaimed fly-on-the-wall documentary Together is returning to provide an exclusive look behind the scenes of our Treble-winning campaign.
“The six-part docuseries, currently in production, will offer fans the complete inside story of City’s greatest-ever season, with unseen footage charting the immersive journey our players and staff experienced en route to securing football’s Holy Grail.
“This is the story of a season like no other, as City once again stunned the world with the brilliance of our football.” Man United fans might take issue with that last statement but you get the jist.
Anyway, there’s been multiple documentaries and programmes covering their treble win in 1999, including the upcoming Amazon series being produced by Gary Neville and David Beckham.
As for the release date on Man City’s treble documentary, supporters will just have to be patient as it is yet to be announced, with the club simply promising that the in-house production is coming soon’.
City narrowly missed out on adding the Community Shield to their trio of trophies in 2023 but will no doubt aim to retain the league title again this season. As the for prospect of going one better and potentially even doing a quadruple, it’s too ridiculous a thought to even consider.
Then again, it is Pep we’re talking about…
