Jennifer Aniston announces her actor father John has died, in a heartbreaking tribute

'You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew'

Jennifer Aniston’s father, actor John Aniston, has died at the age of 89.

Jennifer has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her dad on Instagram, confirming that he has gone ‘soaring into the heavens in peace’.

The veteran actor had starred in soap opera Days of Our Lives for decades – since his first appearance in 1985 he’s appeared in almost 3000 episodes.

The role earned him a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022.

Jennifer described John Aniston as ‘one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew’.

She confirmed, alongside a series of photos from her childhood and adult life, that he had passed away on 11 November.

Jennifer wrote: “Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston.

“You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew.

“I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing.

“That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit.”

Days of Our Lives have also paid tribute, writing: “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston. We love you John. Your legend will live on.”

Dozens of celebrities have sent Jennifer well-wishes since she shared the news this afternoon.

Justin Theroux – who was married to the Friends star between 2015 and 2017 – commented on the post with a simple red love heart.
