Legendary ice cream shop is giving out freebies to anyone called Elizabeth
This weekend marks the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, with events and parties taking place right across the UK and the Commonwealth.
It’s a good week to share a name with HRH Queen Elizabeth II too.
Plenty of businesses around the nation are handing out freebies to anyone called Elizabeth.
The latest to join in the giveaway craze is one of Greater Manchester’s most popular spots for those with a sweet tooth.
Grandpa Greene’s Luxury Ice Cream in Saddleworth, which managed to stop traffic during lockdown there were so many people visiting, will give out free scoops all weekend.
The wildly popular ice cream parlour said the deal applies on all four days of the bank holiday weekend, and can be used for dining in or taking away.
All you need to do is show your photo ID at Grandpa Greene’s and ‘get the celebrations started’.
Elsewhere, Elizabeths can also claim a free ride on the East Lancashire Railway steam trains, and dine for free at The Alan hotel.
The Jubilee celebrations have begun in earnest today and will continue right through until Sunday.
In Manchester, there’s entertainment taking over Piccadilly Gardens all weekend, and a beacon being lit this evening at St Peter’s Square.
