What's On
A corgi cafe with a ballpit, bakery, and boutique is coming to Manchester
You don’t even need to own your own corgi to go either.
Hundreds of corgis and corgi lovers are to descend on a popular Manchester bar later this year for the city’s first-ever pop-up Corgi Café.
Hot off an appearance on the latest episode of Dragons’ Den, POP+BARK dog events will be bringing its pop-up Corgi Café to the doggy-friendly The Botanist at MediaCityUK for one-day-only on Sunday 14 May.
Innovative events company POP+BARK are known for hosting several socialising events for dogs, and specialise in breed-specific cafes.
Founders Anushka Fernando and James Morgan caught the attention of businessmen Steven Bartlett and Toukar Suleman on last week’s episode of the smash-hit BBC series, and while both offered investment to the pair, negotiations sadly fizzled out in the end – but their idea was still given a big dragon seal of approval.
After wowing corgi crowds in London, the Corgi Café has become one POP+BARK’s most successful events to date – which is why Anushka and James are now bringing the party to its first location outside the capital and are heading up north.
The pop-up event is already gaining interest from the corgi contingent here in Manchester.
Sounding set to be the ultimate feel-good event for corgis, corgi owners, and corgi fans alike, the Corgi Café will be an 80-minute ‘off lead’ social experience for dogs and humans, and will come complete with loads of dog-sized furniture, a bathtub ballpit and other fun props, a pupuccino bar, a doggy bakery serving beautifully-iced pupcakes and treats, a pop-up pup boutique.
There’ll also be a designated ‘Chill Zone’ for nervous and older corgis, so they can still make the most of the event too while enjoying some quiet time.
A delicious menu of food and cocktails for will also be served for all humans.
As all POP+BARK events welcome not just dog owners but dog lovers too, this means you don’t even need to own your own corgi to head on down to The Botanist on Sunday 14 May and enjoy this special one-off event.
All the corgis will be off-lead and free to roam and make friends, so this is the perfect chance to get to know the breed first-hand from their owners who know them best.
