WHSmith launches huge closing down sale as Manchester Market Street shop shuts
Another one bites the dust.
WHSmith’s huge shop on Market Street in Manchester is closing down, with big discounts for shoppers.
The book shop and stationery retailer has been plastered with yellow posters advertising its closing down sale.
WHSmith moved to this unit, which has entrances on both Market Street and within the Manchester Arndale shopping centre, back in 2017.
It’s a prominent position for the brand, but its days are officially numbered, with just a few weeks of trading left.
A sign posted in the window states at WHSmith’s last day in its Manchester store will be Saturday 2 December.
It reads: “Unfortunately this store will cease trading on 2nd December 2023. We would like to thank you for your custom.”
It then informs that the closest WHSmith to Manchester now will be at the Trafford Centre.
WHSmith has now launched an ‘everything must go’ sale with up to 50% off everything in store.
That includes cook books, novels, games, notepads, pens, art supplies, and more.
WHSmith said in June that it wouldn’t be opening any more high street shops, instead choosing to focus on UK airports and train stations.
